A redirect sends visitors from one website address to another. It is different from a DNS change.
Steps
- Open Site Redirection for the source domain.
- Enter the source path and complete destination URL.
- Use a temporary redirect while testing. Choose a permanent redirect only when the move is intended to be lasting.
- Save and test the source address. To remove the redirect, select the matching entry and remove it, then test in a fresh browser session.
Good to know
Avoid loops in which the destination redirects back to the source. Browsers and search engines can cache permanent redirects. If a redirect remains after removal, check the application and any proxy rules as well.
