Add another website domain or a domain alias Print

An additional hosted domain has its own website configuration. An alias or domain pointer is used when another name should reach an existing website.

Steps

  1. Confirm that your hosting plan allows the additional domain.
  2. For a separate website, open Domain Setup and add the new domain. For the same website under another name, use Domain Pointers and choose the appropriate alias behavior.
  3. Point the domain DNS to the hosting service.
  4. Verify the intended content and arrange SSL coverage for the new hostname before directing visitors to HTTPS.

Good to know

Adding a domain in the Control Panel does not register it. The domain must already be registered and under your control. Review email routing and application domain settings when adding an alias.
