Set up email on Outlook, Apple Mail, Android, or Thunderbird Print

Use manual IMAP setup when an email application cannot detect the correct mailbox settings.

Steps

1. Create the mailbox first, then open its connection details in Domatic Control Panel.
2. In your email app, add an account and choose manual IMAP setup if automatic discovery fails.
3. Use the full email address as the username, the mailbox password, and the incoming and outgoing hostnames supplied for the service.
4. Use the supplied encrypted ports. Common settings are IMAP 993 with SSL/TLS and SMTP 465 with SSL/TLS or 587 with STARTTLS, with outgoing authentication enabled.
5. Test sending and receiving, then check folder synchronization.

Good to know

Do not guess a hostname from your domain or bypass certificate warnings. Menu names vary by app version. SMTP authentication normally uses the same mailbox login, but the service-provided settings are authoritative.
