Find your website files and document root Print

Each hosted domain has a website directory. Placing a file in the wrong directory can make a successful upload appear to have no effect.

Steps

  1. Open File Manager in Domatic Control Panel.
  2. Navigate to domains/your-domain/public_html, replacing your-domain with the actual domain.
  3. Check the document-root setting for a subdomain or application before uploading; it may use a different folder.
  4. Keep a copy of the existing files before replacing them and test the intended website URL afterwards.

Good to know

Do not assume that a folder with the same name as your domain is the live document root. Avoid moving account-level directories such as mail storage or configuration folders. Ask Support if the HTTPS site displays a different document root.
