A database connection error can come from an incorrect password, missing privileges, service availability, or an application change.
Steps
- Check the complete database name, username, and host in the application configuration against the Control Panel.
- Confirm that the database exists and that the user has the required access.
- If the failure followed a password or migration change, correct the configuration and retest.
- For table corruption or a persistent server error, take a backup and contact Support with the exact error and recent changes.
Good to know
Repair and optimization tools are not appropriate for every storage engine or problem. Avoid dropping tables, running unknown SQL repair scripts, or changing broad privileges as a first troubleshooting step.
