Backup archives can consume a large share of hosting storage. Retain useful recovery points without filling the account.

Steps

  1. List completed backup archives and note their dates and sizes.
  2. Download the copies you need and verify them before removing server copies.
  3. Remove only archives you have identified; do not delete unrelated application or mail folders.
  4. Recheck disk usage after cleanup and review whether a scheduled tool is creating new archives more frequently than expected.

Good to know

Keep backups containing customer data or credentials in a secure location. A backup filename alone does not prove that all required components were included. Confirm coverage and restoration compatibility before relying on an archive.
